Igo Lane

Take a look at what Upper Igo Trailhead offers equestrians!

Igo Lane Trailheads: Igo Lane provides access to two trailheads, Upper and Lower.

 

 

Upper Igo Lane Trailhead: This is a secondary non-motorized trailhead meant to provide access to the properties’ longtime neighbors who have traditionally recreated here.  There is no trailer access at the trailhead and is limited to passenger car access. Motorized access is provided for local residents using motorcycles, ATV’s, and side-by-sides. Please observe motorized rules and requirements including the seasonal closure from October 1- March 31 of the Igo Extension, trail 409.

There are no services provided, pack it in pack it out.

To access Igo Lane from downtown La Grande, head northeast on Island Ave. just under the railroad overpass, turn left onto Monroe Avenue, then turn right on North Spruce St. Travel along North Spruce to Mt. Glen Road. Stay on Mt. Glen Road as it veers to the left. Turn left on Igo Lane. Trailhead is on right at the top of Igo. 62112 Igo Lane La Grande, OR 97850.

MERA RULES-UPPER IGO TRAILHEAD

  • No trailers allowed at Upper Igo trailhead

  • Motorized access at Upper Igo trailhead is closed from October 1 – March 31

  • ATV permit is required on all vehicles entering the MERA trails, available at AC Powersports and Bi-Mart

  • Spark arrestor is required at all times

  • Silencer required, 99db Maximum

  • Motorized use allowed on designated routes only, no off trail travel

  • No target shooting or paintballs allowed

  • Hunting is allowed

  • Camping allowed at Fox Hill Campground only, 5 day stay limit

  • Fires in designated fire rings at Fox Hill Staging Area and Campground only, observe seasonal restrictions

  • Keep control of dogs at all times

  • Clean up after dogs

  • Pack it in pack it out, no garbage service

  • No trespassing on private property

Lower Igo Trailhead: This is a secondary non-motorized trailhead for neighboring residents and is a popular equestrian access point.

 

No services are provided, pack it in pack it out.
