Owsley Canyon Trailhead: Owsley Canyon Trailhead provides a large parking area for vehicles and horse trailers and restroom facilities are available here also.
Owsley Canyon Trailhead is the primary non-motorized access point. The trailhead was developed to provide parking for horse trailers, please review the parking diagram below to park efficiently allowing space for the next person. There is no drinking water or garbage service on MERA, come prepared and pack it in pack it out. Camping and overnight stays are not permitted in the trailhead. Free camping is designated at the Fox Hill Campground, ONLY.
To access Owsley Canyon Road from La Grande, take Second Street north to Black Hawk Trail Lane. Turn right on Black Hawk Trail Lane. Turn left on Owsley Canyon Road. Stay right and trailhead is on right. 63559 Owsley Canyon Road La Grande, OR 97850.
