Fox Hill Campground/ Motocross Track/ Kid’s Track
Adjacent to the Fox Hill Trailhead is a primitive 8 site RV campground overlooking La Grande, 4 pull through sites and 4 back in sites. Camping is free and there is a 14 day stay limit. There are no hook ups or water available; pit toilets are accessible at the trailhead. Fire rings are provided, be sure your fire is dead out before leaving unattended. Observe seasonal fire restrictions. No fires are allowed once in Regulated Use as declared by the Oregon Department of Forestry (541) 963-3168.
Camping is allowed at the Fox Hill Campground ONLY.
Across the road is an additional parking area and loading ramp facilitating the MERA Motocross Track and Kid’s Track. The Kid’s Track is a learner’s loop that is an excellent option for first time riders to master riding skills.
The Motocross Track has recently been developed and is being fine-tuned by local riders to accommodate all skill levels. Fox Hill is the logical starting point for all of your motorized trail activities. Trails are provided for all classes of off-highway vehicles (OHV).
Fox Hill Motorized Rules

ATV permit is required on all vehicles entering the MERA trails, available at AC Powersports, Bi-Mart, and Xtreme Heights Motorsports

Spark arrestor is required at all times

Silencer required, 99db Maximum

All operators must hold a valid ATV Safety Education Card

Motorized use allowed on designated routes only, no off trail travel, stay out of sensitive meadows

Speed limit in trailheads and campground – 5 MPH

No target shooting or paintballs

Hunting is allowed

Camping allowed at Fox Hill Campground only, 5 day stay limit

Fires allowed in designated fire rings at Fox Hill Staging Area and Campground only, observe seasonal restrictions

Fox Hill Trailhead: Is the exclusive motorized Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) access point. The parking area is spacious making trailer maneuvering a breeze.
To access Fox Hill Road from La Grande, follow Second Street north to Black Hawk Trail Lane. Turn left on Black Hawk Trail Lane, which becomes Fox Hill Road. The road turns to gravel and the grade is very steep 17%, if towing 4WD is recommended. Fox Hill trailhead is on the right at the top of hill:
